about

Here's a bootleg of the original band's last-ever concert, at The Winning Post pub in Whitton, Twickenham. After this concert the band broke up, and canceled the last five gigs of the tour.

The tracks here are in considerably better quality than those on the "Live Chronicles" bootleg. Thanks to Josh Voeks for supplying the improved files!

Tracks 5-8 come from a different bootleg source, still obviously the same concert and still crappy, but perhaps differently crappy. There are now FOUR mixes of this concert (including the two on "Live Chronicles"). Take your pick, as Pip used to say.

"Q: What was your favorite Hatfield piece or musical moment?
RS: Me on squeaky duck and bass when Lol Coxhill was a guest with Hatfield and The North live! I played bass with the left hand, and Afro/Shaft type rhythms on a squeaky duck toy with the right. I really enjoyed it!"

This is a "recording of indeterminate origin," i.e. a bootleg. If you buy it from me it'll be the first time anyone in the band has seen a quid from it.

Richard Sinclair Martina Franca, Italy

The leading voice of the Canterbury Scene. Beginning with the Wilde Flowers, on to Caravan, Hatfield & the North, Camel and all his recent group efforts, Richard Sinclair's singing and bass playing have been a constant source of delight for lovers of Canterbury music. A deep, low voice, a talent for memorable melodies few can match, plus an imaginative and fluid technique on the bass and guitar. ... more
