about

Camel
The Roxy, San Diego, CA
13th February 1979 - Early show

A short show, with an abbreviated setlist.

Mastered from new analogue source. The band are cooking, most pieces played at an energetic pace! Good audience recording, with auto record levels, but very clear and clean. The source tape I received had lots of small dropouts in one channel, so I have transcribed from the other mono channel, which is fine as its a mono source.

The late show, same day, is posted here:

This is a "recording of indeterminate origin," i.e. a bootleg. If you buy it from me it'll be the first time anyone in the band has seen a quid from it.

Thanks to Joerg (Propylaen2001) for the tapes

A deep, low voice, a talent for memorable melodies few can match, plus an imaginative and fluid technique on the bass and guitar. ... more
