about

Colour Me Pop was the first colourful nugget from the BBC which showcased various artists of the day. It was the forerunner of 'Disco 2' which then morphed into 'The Old Grey Whistle Test'. It ran between June 1968 and August 1969. A variety of musical acts appeared on the show such as Manfred Mann, The Hollies, The Move, David Bowie and the Small Faces. As with many of the BBC shows of this time, the majority of the shows have been wiped and only a handful have survived. Only 5 full editions survive in the archives.

This is a minor addition to the catalogue. It should be better sound than it is for BBC recordings... but it was taped off the TV, rather than coming from the Beeb.

This is a "recording of indeterminate origin," i.e. a bootleg. If you buy it from me it'll be the first time anyone in the band has seen a quid from it.

about

Richard Sinclair Martina Franca, Italy

The leading voice of the Canterbury Scene. Beginning with the Wilde Flowers, on to Caravan, Hatfield & the North, Camel and all his recent group efforts, Richard Sinclair's singing and bass playing have been a constant source of delight for lovers of Canterbury music. A deep, low voice, a talent for memorable melodies few can match, plus an imaginative and fluid technique on the bass and guitar. ... more
