about

Here's a concert video I shot many years ago that hasn't really seen the light of day until now. In 1993 Richard Sinclair came to the US to perform a number of small private shows. One of these was at my friend Kevin Hall's home in Cheshire, CT and it seemed the perfect opportunity to capture the performance. Many thanks to Richard for allowing it and just for being a really cool person all round.

Greetings All, here is a little something for all you Canterbury fans out there.....I was lucky enough to be able to have Richard play at my house on two separate occasions when he was doing his "tourist visa" tours. Great fun and a great recording, hope you like it. For all you history buffs out there, The Elf's Den was my living room on Highland Avenue in Cheshire, Connecticut. The house is no longer standing, but the recording is a snapshot of the moment.....enjoy.....Kevin Hall

Note: This is a different show from the 1994 show, recorded the following year in Kevin's living room, and posted here:

Richard Sinclair Martina Franca, Italy

The leading voice of the Canterbury Scene. Beginning with the Wilde Flowers, on to Caravan, Hatfield & the North, Camel and all his recent group efforts, Richard Sinclair's singing and bass playing have been a constant source of delight for lovers of Canterbury music. A deep, low voice, a talent for memorable melodies few can match, plus an imaginative and fluid technique on the bass and guitar. ... more
